Resolution is per tool. Your plan does not set one pixel size for every endpoint. It gates which resolution options a given tool will accept. On newer endpoints you pick a named resolution, and higher values cost more credits on the same plan.

Named resolutions (the current model)

Text to video and image to video take 480p, 720p, 1080p, or 4k. Image generator and image editor take 640px, 1k, 2k, or 4k. What you can pass depends on two things: the model, and your plan.
  • The model lists the resolutions it actually supports. sora-2 is 720p only. kling-3.0 goes to 4k. See models.
  • Your plan gates the highest option you may request. Free is typically the lowest option (480p / 640px). Paid plans (Creator, Pro, Business) can request the higher options the model supports. You pay more credits for higher resolution; the plan does not charge a flat “Creator rate” regardless of size.
A Creator requesting kling-3.0 at 1080p is allowed and is billed at 72 credits/second. The same job at 4k is 240 credits/second. That is by design: one plan, multiple resolutions, cost follows the output.
Defaults follow the plan. Text to video and image to video default to 480p on Free and 720p on paid. Image auto is deprecated and mapped server-side to a resolution the model and your plan both support.

Plan vs cost

Creator, Pro, and Business also differ on credits per month, upload size, concurrency, and support. They do not each lock you to a single pixel size on these endpoints. Full per-model rates are on models and credit costs.

Tools that still cap longest edge

Some older image and video endpoints still use a longest-edge pixel cap. Treat these as tool-specific, not as the plan’s identity. A few of those tools also have a hard cap regardless of plan: AI Headshot Generator (1344px), AI Clothes Changer (1472px), AI Talking Photo (720p), Video to Video and Animation (1472px). Video to Video additionally requires width and height divisible by 64. Those caps are shrinking in importance as more tools move to named resolutions.

Upgrading

Upgrade when you need a resolution option Free does not unlock, or when higher-resolution jobs are burning through the monthly allotment and the next plan’s credit volume is cheaper than packs. Pricing lists current plans.
