Connect Magic Hour through LobeHub’s native custom connectors. No bridge, proxy, or local Magic Hour server is needed. This setup was verified with self-hosted LobeHub 2.2.20.

Add Magic Hour

Use a LobeHub instance where you can manage custom connectors. Get a Magic Hour API key, then:
  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add Custom Connector.
  2. Select Streamable HTTP and enter:
  1. Click Install. For an existing connector, use Edit → API Key → Update.
  2. Open the installed connector to inspect its discovered tools and permissions.
Use the native API Key field rather than adding an Authorization custom header. LobeHub stores the Bearer credential in its encrypted connector storage. Keep the key out of prompts, screenshots, and shared configuration.
Discovery can succeed without authentication. A successful Test Connection or a list of tools does not prove that your key is valid. An authenticated tool request is needed to verify access to your Magic Hour account.

Start with an existing image

To begin without creating paid work, open the connector’s tool permissions. Set all tools to Disabled, then set only image_projects_retrieve_details to Auto. Reopen the settings to confirm that this permission is saved. With a tool-capable chat model configured in LobeHub, enable the Magic Hour connector for your conversation. Use the ID of an image project that already belongs to your Magic Hour account:
The project ID is returned when an image is created. Keep that ID when recovering from a timeout; do not submit another paid creation to check the first project’s status.
Disabled permissions block calls, but LobeHub 2.2.20 still includes those tools’ schemas in model context. Choose a model with enough context for the discovered tools and your conversation. Disabling tools does not reduce that context use.

Verified behavior

The native connector discovered 48 Magic Hour tools. Normal UI permission changes and reload confirmed 47 Disabled tools and only the saved-image read set to Auto. The ordinary Edit → API Key → Update flow saved the credential, and one same-session native LobeHub connector API request retrieved an existing completed image project. The response returned HTTP 200, the requested ID, and complete status. No generation or additional credits were used. This validation covered native credential settings and authenticated connector API execution. Model-driven chat and generation were not exercised. Keep normal login and connector permissions enabled; allow additional tools only when you intend to use them and, for creation calls, spend API credits.
